Anyone who has gotten married knows what a whirlwind of a day it can be! From the excitement of the moment to being sure to invest time in each of your guests, this well planned event can fly by in the blink of an eye. As you plan your wedding, you will most likely spend a lot of time and money on all the details that make up the ambiance of your beautiful day.
So many couples I work with request outdoor engagement photos, and I don’t blame them! A moment of twirling with your love amongst tall trees, or sharing a kiss in a field of wildflowers, can truly create the perfect environment for dreamy engagement photos. But what do you do when the weather decides not to cooperate and casts a shadow on your sunny day plans?
Does this sound like you: you’ve just gotten engaged and you’re planning to schedule a photoshoot to commemorate this big moment in your life, but you’re just not feeling inspired? Or, you’re excited to have someone capture these images, but don’t want the same, basic engagement photos you see everyone else posting on social media? The good news is, I have plenty of clients who want to mix things up and get creative for their engagement photos!
For some wedding photographers and vendors, work can be slow during a few months out of the year. In this time, one of my favorite things to do is get together with other vendors and collaborate on new ideas for our customers. This provides an opportunity to meet new people, work with different companies, and create some inspiration for potential clients like you!
When you think of San Francisco do you immediately think of the Golden Gate Bridge, or is that just me? Many couples who book engagement photos in the Bay Area request views of this iconic monument, or other San Fran popularities. Being somewhat new to the area, I’ve made it my personal mission to find all the best engagement photo locations in San Francisco.
When I first started taking photography more seriously, I was open to a variety of different types of photoshoots. As my business has expanded and I’ve chosen to focus on the couples, weddings, and elopements niche, there are a lot of clients I no longer take on. Today’s blog post features some very special people and a style of photography I don’t often offer anymore – family sessions.
In 2022, many couples are looking for ways to save on their big day while still throwing a glamorous and beautiful event. One popular way of doing so is to jump on the DIY wedding decor trend! Now, you may be wondering, is a DIY wedding cheaper? Or, how can I do DIY without it looking tacky? In this article I will share an incredible example of clients who were able to save money and also create a stunning event for their wedding on a budget.
If you are planning a wedding or elopement in the Bay Area, look no further than San Francisco City Hall. Affectionately known as The People’s Palace, this venue’s grand embellishments and elegant presence create the perfect environment for your special day. With a luxurious amount of halls, balconies and galleries to choose from for your ceremony or reception, there is no lack of variety when it comes to photo opportunities.
Have you caught yourself looking up the phrase, “Should I have a backyard wedding?” If so, you’re not alone. With the costs of wedding venues, lack of flexibility in scheduling, and not to mention the restrictions of the pandemic, a lot of couples are searching for alternative ideas. While fears and doubts may arise with the absence of a venue to guide you, it is totally possible to have a beautiful and intimate backyard wedding of your own.
For many of my couples, the pandemic totally derailed their wedding expectations, forcing them to get creative with their solutions. Ben and Caroline are no exception to the drama of changing plans and being flexible. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I shot their sweet engagement session back in 2020 and then their intimate elopement when a larger event wasn’t possible.
